Our Story & Journey

Our Story

In 2002, when our founder Ms. Lydia Milly SSozi came to Japan to conduct business, she faced a series of challenges that made the process far more difficult than expected. Navigating unfamiliar business practices, language barriers, and complex regulations left her feeling stranded and overwhelmed. Yet, instead of giving up, an idea sparked: "Why not help others who are facing the same struggles?"

This moment of inspiration led her to open a business aimed at supporting like-minded entrepreneurs who were in similar situations — people who saw Japan as a land of opportunity but didn't know how to navigate the complexities of doing business here.

Recognizing the gap in the market, she turned her frustration into an opportunity, creating a platform where businesses could get the guidance, resources, and local expertise needed to succeed in Japan. What started as a personal journey has now grown into a trusted business, helping countless entrepreneurs seamlessly enter and thrive in the Japanese market.

Today, Begkaso Japan Company is a testament to resilience and vision, empowering businesses from all over the world — especially from Africa — to build strong, lasting connections in Japan, with a focus on trust, transparency, and long-term success.

Our Journey

In 2007, after years of overcoming personal challenges and navigating the complexities of Japan's business landscape, our founder officially registered the company. Having met all the necessary criteria to establish a business in Japan, we embarked on a journey that has shaped our success. Since then, we've never looked back.

From those early days, we've steadily grown, continuously improving and refining our services to better support African entrepreneurs and businesses in Japan. We are always on the lookout for new, innovative ways to bridge the gap between Africa and Japan, ensuring smooth business transactions and fostering lasting partnerships across both continents.

Our commitment to service and excellence is deeply rooted in the values of resilience and opportunity that our founder embraced. The spirit of transforming challenges into opportunities is not just our legacy — it's our ongoing mission. This mindset is passed down through generations, inspiring each new chapter of our company's growth and success.

As we continue to serve our customers with dedication and integrity, we remain focused on the future — helping businesses navigate the complexities of international trade and fostering new opportunities for African professionals in Japan and beyond. The same spirit that started it all still drives us, and we look forward to continuing this journey for many years to come.

Our Name & Legacy

The name BEGKASO is more than just a brand — it’s a tribute to the values of respect, partnership, and appreciation that have shaped our company from the very beginning.

The name is an acronym, derived from the key figures who played a pivotal role in the early days of our business. Mr. Begumisa, Mr. Kakoza, and Ms. Ssozi were not just influential partners, but also the driving force behind our founder’s success. While they were never shareholders in the company, their unwavering support and strong business relationship with our founder were fundamental to the company’s growth.

What BEGKASO Stands For:

  • Beg - Begumisa
  • KA - Kakoza
  • SO - Ssozi

Her decision to use their names as the company’s identity was a gesture of deep respect and gratitude for the crucial role they played in those early days. It serves as a reminder of the importance of building strong, trusting relationships with our customers.

From the very start, our founder instilled in us the importance of cherishing and valuing the support of our customers. This belief is still at the heart of everything we do today. As the next generation of BEGKASO, we are committed to honoring that legacy and ensuring that our relationships with our customers remain strong, valued, and appreciated for years to come.

The spirit of partnership that started with our early customers will continue to guide us as we move forward.
